In Ontario my boss cant insure his bike for just 6 months... crazy. He can insure his Miata for summer only as its a second vehicle, but he gets screwed over his bike insurance, and premiums keep...

It doesnt deal well with an insurance history longer than license history, or an absence of g1 / g2 license. Kanetix.ca at least offers the option of previous foreign licensing now IIRC.

Compared to other places obviously.

Are the business limitations any different elsewhere? I dont subscribe to the idea that canadian drivers are significantly worse than anywhere else, or are more...

Im not in the GTA, and my insurance is still a total rip off if you ask me.

My (limitied) understanding is a lot of the expense is due to government imposed...

Someone want to give the OP the name of an individual broker at Johnsons (or whoever) that they had had some joy with the NCB thing? Could just be they are dealing with someone who hasnt dealt with...

Shop around more, doesnt seem to me that she should be that much of a risk?

Failing that put the highest deductable on the policy that they will allow and see what that does for premiums?

The bad news is that Johnsons are the one often suggested for the GTA....

See suggestions above about buying a beater and insuring minimally with maximum deductable.

On the plus side at least...
