Re: Price comparison

Because in one case you're using a coupon and in the other (Canada) you aren't, ergo, not a valid comparison. Simple as that. You can't just assume that everyone who walks into any given restaurant...

Re: Price comparison

You can get vouchers here, I don't tend to look for vouchers when I'm on vacation and happen to roll up at places. For example: http://www.vouchercloud.ca/ To do a valid comparison you have to...

Re: Price comparison

A little bit more than here, we don't seem to have a peak rate, it's just a flat rate. For my house anyway.

Re: Price comparison

Re: Price comparison

That comparison website does it by country too: http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_countries_result.jsp?country1=Canada&country2=United+Kingdom

Seems to agree on the basic utilities. I...

Re: Price comparison

So I had a poke around the web and standing charges seem to vary a lot both in Canada and the UK, but I'm going to go with what my local charges work out to, which seems to be 67 cents per day. And...

Re: Price comparison

Less than what I pay, is there any tax?

That's more than what I pay now and that bill also includes water....

Re: Price comparison

But that doesn't really tell me anything, what was the breakdown of the bill in the UK and what was the breakdown in Canada and I don't know even know where in Canada you are. I accept the non-rate...

Re: Price comparison

Well I think I can safely say we use more natural gas per capita in Calgary than southern Ontario based on the weather, but yeah, it is just about possible to manage without AC in Calgary. Couple of...

Re: Price comparison

Nope, totally wrong, just went to ukpower.co.uk and it's giving me rates around 14p (aka 26 cents per kWh). In Alberta it's around 7 cents per kWh.

I.e. vastly less. Alberta (and Canada...
