Are you on about smart or dumb UPS or something...

Are you on about smart or dumb UPS or something else?

For the others a smart UPS talks to the PC, can be talked to from the PC to get diagnostics such as battery status and a smart UPS shuts down...

Anything slightly sensitive should be surge...

Anything slightly sensitive should be surge proected otherwise one of the numerous electrical storms could zap your PC, TV, video etc etc.

Even in the UK it is a good idea. A house down the road...
