I think it depends where you live. Suburbs in general tend to be pretty soulless but they do have proper villages round here (Massachusetts) with the traditional green, the steepled church, the brick...

Purely my subjective personal preference of course but I thought it was a bit rubbish. The first stanza was o.k but it went downhill after that. If i'm in a jingoistic mood i'd prefer some Rupert...

Its kinda hard to tell because both the UK and US unemployment figures are fudged to leave a lot of people off the books. In the U.S the fudge is that if someone gives up looking for a job they...

I've also found that a helpful way to think of it. Another way to do it is to break it down into cultural regions. Someone called Joel Garreau tried to do this back in the eighties.
