Haha, I read that back several times and couldn't see what was wrong so decided I was tired... I'll put it down to working too many hours yesterday and moving furniture in my spare time!!! :rofl:

If you borrow somebodies car, you borrow their insurance which no doubt is a higher risk for the insurance company, so increases the premium... also there are less people paying in so the premiums...

I hope I don't upset Eggman too much but I still miss NS and would seriously consider a move back there... I miss my friends and like Eggman I have a son there who I haven't seen in 7 months :(

Milk in NS is way more expensive than some other parts of Canada though. We moved from NS in July. At that time it was $7.20 for 4 litres... (which is why we left NS because "only idiots would pay...

My son is renting in Clayton Park. He's either paying $700 or $750 including heat...just has to pay his power...

In the UK it happens too. The publican can be held responsible if a customer leaves his establishment drunk and causes trouble... I know this, I have my personal license!

Irrespective, I was only trying to make a point that it really doesn't matter whether you have to buy your alcohol in a different store... some things are...

It doesn't bother me at all... you just get used to it and don't ever think about it.
Supermarkets close at 4pm on a Sunday in the UK...that's way too early. How stupid!!!!

I have no complaints. I have settled quite happily over here and have no real urges to go back to the UK.
Just need to source Christmas cake and I will be happy ;)

I'm not sure what the answer is. As far as milk is concerned, I understand it even less. In Ontario 4 litres is $3.99 as opposed to $7.99 in NS. How much is milk in the UK now?

Agreed, it's insane. My husband manages a resort here and has to purchase all alcohol through LCBO... they really have got a monopoly going on.
I personally don't care what happens with alcohol,...

I noticed in the LCBO here in Ontario that a person under the age of 19 isn't even allowed to hold a can of beer/ bottle of wine in the store! They're allowed in the store though...now that is crazy!

Graham is right that you can't know in a couple of days. But what he doesn't say is that other than living somewhere there is no way of knowing for sure whether you'd like it or not...the only way is...
