Re: The road to freedom

Indeed RW extremism - although not as bad as its LW counterpart - is indeed something to be wary of. Both are best avoided

Although he is indeed RW and conservative, the new NSW premier is hardly...

Re: The road to freedom

Your opinion of whether I have any credibility is totally and utterly meaningless

Re: The road to freedom

Nope. Things could have been done better here that's for sure but much of the shit that we've been through/going through has been made up on the fly

Australia has done relatively well and now the...

Re: The road to freedom

+1

There's not many cities that have a beach right next to the CBD - the only place I can think of is Durban

Re: The road to freedom

The title of this thread triggered something in the far reaches of my noggin - and I've just realised what it is. The book, The Road to Serfdom by the incredible economist Friedrich Hayek is one of...

Re: The road to freedom

The country will generally be all done by the end of November. Whether we get to 80% (NSW, WA or Overall) remains to be seen. The UK is kind of stuck on 75% of adults - and they've absolutely smashed...

Re: The road to freedom

I'll just repeat than I'm no fan of McGowan, didn't vote for him and don't agree with his kung flu strategy. However, WA's vaccine policy is basically the same as every other state - to vaccinate...

Re: The road to freedom

While I don't really agree with those Melbourne protests, I understand where they're coming from

The fact that police are using 'non-lethal' rounds on the streets of an Australian city against...

Re: The road to freedom

I'll partly agree but if you are heavily into urban culture then Australia may not suit

I find all Australian cities to be average by international standards in reality, with the best parts of...

Re: The road to freedom

WA cannot stay locked down if the rest of the country opens up - despite what McGowan says. Ain't going to happen. All the states are going to get to 70% and 80% (if ever) at roughly the same time,...

Re: The road to freedom

Agree. I don't like McGowan but the majority here do - although his halo slipped a bit with that idiotic statement he came out with last week - so essentially democracy at work. I don't like the way...

I feel the same about Sydney but anyway

For the job I do, where I can earn the highest salary that I can and live in a Western first world location at the same time and enjoy the benefits that...

Re: The road to freedom

I'm not going to get into the politics of WA - but put it this way, I'm no fan of McGowan. It's great to be in WA right now. The economy is booming and there is no lockdown. There is so much work...

Re: The road to freedom

Most people in the UK are not really living normal lives as they are still subject to restrictions, pinging etc and international travel is a bit of a lottery - which is why most UK holiday...

Re: The road to freedom

Not really. Vaccinating under 16s is a nice to have but not a necessity and should stay out of the 70% target
