Re: The UK

Just like Madrid or Barcelona, things are a lot easier if you get hold of a travelcard (Oystercard in London). I don't think things are that much harder (if at all) in the Uk capital - get hold of a...

Re: The UK

Or study in Germany or France for that matter...just seems strange that despite all the stories of "media studies" type degrees, and the high cost, and stories of graduates unable to spell or add up,...

Re: The UK

In short, Spain has a far greater range of fish/seafood in its shops/supermarkets than the UK :D
I'm told that the UK supermarkets are better because their range in most things is greater eg...

Re: The UK

I've worked for a company that supplied food products (mainly sandwiches wraps etc) to different supermarkets. I can assure you that the standards imposed by the "higher value" supermarkets were of a...

Re: The UK

As with all things you can find better quality supermarkets (in the UK for instance Sainsburys or Waitrose). You do have to be careful with the cheaper variety - the boss of Asda let the cat out of...

Re: The UK

I don't know if this is a true anecdote or just an urban myth, but they used to say in the UK that the only flavoured crisp a vegetarian could safely eat was the Smoky Bacon variety.

I see there's...

Re: The UK

What planet are you on? LOL

I prefer the basic salted crisps produced in a traditional way, but I am partial to the Lays paprika version.

Re: The UK

Well yes, but there again you wouldn't angle for a return visit (constantly praising the cooking) if the meal really did taste off? Unless you're a masochist of course!

Re: The UK

Not too happy today? Concerned about the price of Carlsburg?

If you go to Tesco and buy the big 18 pack, yes the price is £10 (which actually works out at 55pence - try and get your facts right...

Silly me, I forgot. You're the poster who thinks anyone who disagrees with your views is "making it up" and "telling lies". I'm really Richard Branson posting from a carribean island. I shouldn't...

Re: The UK

Well you have a point, if you can make bread at home it's normally far better- Same goes for home cooking, I've yet to find a restaurant that can consistently provide as nice food as that done at home

Re: The UK

You may have a point if talking about the commercial brands. But certainly in big cities like Madrid they still have the local outlets selling the packets of locally fried crisps with just salt as...

Re: The UK

I happen to think both countries have a lot to learn about bread, compared with say Germany. Bread tends to be of a better quality in Spain the further north you go, I find, and bread from Galicia...
