We arrived in Manly on the 8th Jan from the UK (Dorset) and are now renting in Thorneside, just down the road from you! Im 30 and partner is 36. We have no kids and are also finding it hard...

we're renting initially for six months before we buy and pay $1300 for a two bed townhouse. No water bills or council tax - just rent, electric and landline/interent, its south side of brisbane city...
