Thx - still in shock but it's amazing feeling. We also had our nomination approved in feb but couldnt apply until last week as had to have 2 years on 457.

Also our 457 expired the following day...

We got out golden ticket on thursday after submitting 856 application last week! Such a great feeling. Exactly 8 days including the weekend. If u haven't submitted it yet definitely go for drc. ...

Nomination lodged in December and not heard anything yet. Since then the office where work was destroyed by floods and 2 staff members have been laid off - business is suffering...

HELP!!!! Ive just moved from a student visa to a 457 so my other half could work full time however I want to apply for a 485 at the end of my course as best option for PR for us.

Oh yeah - meant to say that you can both go over to the 457 visa - thats what Im doing. Gives you longer in the country - otherwise your visa would expire before hers as 457 can be up to 4 years. ...

we are currently on a student visa - Im studying and hubby in same boat with employer - we are on final stage of 457 - will find out in 2 weeks..... fingers crossed as we are running out of money! ...

As Peitie says you dont have to worry - its still on SOL for the moment however state sponsored applications are now prioritised and I was going to go for that as you also only need...

Really? that is completely bizarre. they must be flooded with applications since the changes to sponsorship priority in January. What is your occupation?

Just checked the QLD skilled sponsored eligible skills and cant find hairdressing - see it was updated on the 3rd of March - has it now been removed??????

Anyone know??

I just checked it out and you definitely cant apply for a graduate visa without getting TRA rubber stamp on your skills first....up the creek etc...

TRA can not guarantee an outcome prior to an assessment being conducted. Your 900hrs employment must be outside course requirements and any employment undertaken from 1 September 2008, must be paid....

Is this different from the 1 years work experience you need to have after you complete the course? This was brought in last September? Are you saying that the 900 hours we do is irrelevant...

Im confused too - I am at BSH brisbane and doing the 2 year course - dont understand how you can qualify for 2 year course and only do the cert III. Maybe I have missed something though......

Im going to Brisbane School of Hairdressing doing Cert III in Hairdressing and Diploma in salon mgt - starting on 21st of July.

The school year is end of Jan to mid December and age cut off is 1st...
