I've looked all over the interweb and emailed the various immigration people but I can't get a straight answer.

Re: BUNAC Work Acquisition

Hey.

I'm currently on my year long trek into Canada. It is completely relative on where you're planning on going in my experience. I came out with the BUNAC group and split at Vancouver. I had...

Re: Housing listings alberta?

It's no problem. I've had a look through the papers, yeah, and found a few that i'd like to ring up. Only problem with them is that they're all pretty vague and some of them are dated back to...

Re: Housing listings alberta?

Hah, we're not that bad! Or at least I'm not.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Get it all done when I'm there, screw it. On a whim! Just a pain, cuz I'm a textbook overthinker - would love to...

Re: Housing listings alberta?

I rang up both of those companies, regarding two separate properties (to ask about minimum lease + such) and they both basically told me to f**k off. Even if I told him how much money I had saved...

Re: Housing listings alberta?

Thanks both. Both sites list for near calgary, but there's not alot available within our price range. I've put an 'accomodation' ad up on one of them - not sure if I'll get anything though.

Re: Health Insurance - Cheaper than BUNAC's?

Just had a look - for 5 months it's £150, compared with BUNAC's £300 - £400! Amazing. Like you said, being able to extend it is a bonus.

Thanks, Deeb  Just what I've been looking for.

Re: Health Insurance - Cheaper than BUNAC's?

Long term preferably. I wouldn't mind one that I could extend while in canada, though.

It'd need to cover the basic day-to-day stuff aswell as winter sports, basically.

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

Normally is a key word. The Tazer situation is abnormal.

Fair enough - agree to disagree. I do understand where you're coming from Alan and I'm sorry if I came off as rude,.

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

Fair enough. I agree that this was a pretty unwarranted reaction from the police, but I think it's obvious that they never intended to kill.

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

Whether a suspect is unarmed or armed is irrelevant, if they are resisting arrest violently, reasonable force is what they can expect. Would you have the Police merely chat with a dangerous suspect?

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

Wow. This thread has gone a bit awry. I actually have an opinion; sure some police officers the world over are corrupt, but not all - the vast majority are good guys. Compared with how many...
