Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

We were quoted $90 per week for storage here in Perth though in the event we didn't need to use storage. We used PSS to move our stuff here and couldn't fault either them or their partners in Perth,...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

I submitted my reply before reading your query. It's fair to say that there are still a lot of toploading machines out there but the front loaders are much more common than they were. I don't think...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

We shipped two new items, a dyson cleaner and a garden swinging seat. We declared both items on the manifest but were not charged on either. Dyson cleaners are very expensive here and the seat was...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

They will be looking for dodgy hips, having to touch toes is part of the fun. They should take a urine sample with them too. I had the unpleasant experience of having my medical topless and I still...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - now sparkling lifestyle chat in Australia!!

We have a rental! After a few weeks of looking at countless houses that all seemed to meld into one after a while we chose a place in Clarkson. Not a suburb that would be everyone's cup of tea I...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - now sparkling lifestyle chat in Australia!!

Green title is the equivalent of freehold as opposed to strata (leasehold) where someone else owns the land. We don't know much about owning property either but hopefully we will learn sometime in...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - now sparkling lifestyle chat in Australia!!

Funny you should raise the question of mobile homes. We were having lunch with our niece and partner yesterday and bemoaning the fact that we would have a problem finding a house within our budget. ...

$385? What are they going to do, gold plate it? I'm sure you will feel much better for the treatment. :)

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - now sparkling lifestyle chat in Australia!!

Hi Gill, no, we weren't present when they examined the boxes. I don't think you would be allowed to. You do have to write on the manifest how you cleaned your items and chemicals used. We pressure...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - now sparkling lifestyle chat in Australia!!

We went up to the store yesterday to collect the priority boxes from our container with all the Christmas presents we sent over. Quarantine had had a field day and opened numerous boxes, all of...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - now sparkling lifestyle chat in Australia!!

Re: Shipping Insurance

We used a company called insure-your-move for our recent shipment to Australia. Our stuff is here but as we haven't anywhere to live it's in store at the moment so can't comment on how it has...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - now sparkling lifestyle chat in Australia!!

If I can be permitted to add my twopennyworth to this argument. I can see why the powers that be decided to split the thread, it had become more of a social chit chat medium with the odd nugget of...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - now sparkling lifestyle chat in Australia!!

Yes, that's right so we have until next April. We got a letter in the post with some literature about the rebate and the count down. We had never registered for visiting Medicare in the past so we...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4
