I don't know about memory cards, but here in Madrid, the price of blank media, particurarly blank DVD's, is considerably more than it is back in the UK.

I don't know if this is a taxation thing on...

Ditto. I usually take with me only 1 friend from each place I have lived, and I never lose touch with them.
