Visa Waiver Business and Visa Waiver Tourist on the same visit?

There is a possibility that I may be going to the US next year on business for meetings with a supplier and our sister company. As I'll already be there (and work would be paying for the flights!) it...

Re: Iowa City?

As my fiancee went to Iowa State, at this point I'm contractually obliged to say "boo hawkeyes!"

Re: General Question on VWP

One thing about using your card in the States. It might be a good idea to tell your bank you're going abroad as last time I was there, I could only use mine once before they froze it as they thought...

Re: SWIFT v. IBAN?

When I transfered money a few weeks ago it ask for the SWIFT number or routing code and the IBAN number. As has been mentioned the US doesn't use IBAN numbers and when my fiancee asked at the bank...

Re: US fiance visiting me in UK - airport problems?

My fiancee has visited me here in the UK three times (once as my fiancee) and has never had any problems. We were nervous the last time as she was wearing the ring but she sailed through.

A three...

Re: ESTA for VWP is here

Just filled mine out and it was very straight forward. As people have said it's just an electronic I-94W.

I got authorazation pending which despite them saying has no negative findings is a little...

Re: Getting married to my american fioncee in the next couple of years..

But she's only be in the UK to marry you so as long as she proves she has enough money to pay for her stay I don't think that would be an issue. I also think (but am not 100% sure) that not having...

Re: Getting married to my american fioncee in the next couple of years..

There are two visas she could get to marry you in the UK. There's the fiancee visa (http://www.britainusa.com/visas/articles_show_nt1.asp?i=65035&L1=41000&a=41031) which you'd use if she was coming...

Re: A minor matter about POE entry but it's been bugging me so I'll ask!

I realise the situation will raise more scrutiny and questions for me & them if we arrive in a group and that ultimately it's down to the POE officer(s) on the day whether we get admitted. However I...

Re: A minor matter about POE entry but it's been bugging me so I'll ask!

Ok, that's got me worried :(

She honestly is moving back to the UK after the wedding and I have no intention of staying in the States. I know I'll more than likely get a few extra questions but...

Re: A minor matter about POE entry but it's been bugging me so I'll ask!

We will actually all be on the VWP as my fiancee is moving to the UK after the wedding.

My instinct was to split up as even though we are related as my and my sister are older and have moved out....

A minor matter about POE entry but it's been bugging me so I'll ask!

I'm getting married in Kansas City next April so my family are coming out and I was wondering what to do regarding the POE. I've always travelled on my own but have seen people go through in...

Re: Duty rates for an engagement ring

*Update*
I proposed to Molly the Sunday before last and she accepted :D

I actually bought a ring from a US online company as decided I wanted to do it with the actual ring rather than having a...

Re: "Writing holiday" - VWP

I laugh when I read this example on here as I can't imagine your feet would touch the ground as they drag you in for further questions

Re: Marrying in USA

I went for dinner at Backstreet in Galena with my girlfriend in August (she's from Dubuque, IA) and I heartily recommend it. The town looks really nice and all her family love it there.

Anyway,...

Re: Problems entering USA to visit girlfriend

I've always been asked if I had any friends and family in the US and then asked who when I say yes so I've never been able to "get out" of saying I was visiting my girlfriend. However it's never been...

Re: Duty rates for an engagement ring

Thanks for all the advice - I'll just keep it in my bag then.

Thanks for the good luck wish Jenney. We've spoken about our future together so I'm sure she'll say yes but that doesn't make it any...

Re: Duty rates for an engagement ring

That would probably be the cheaper option but I'm a worrier/wuss and would most most likely crack under any pressure. ("Good afternoon sir" - "ok it's a fair cop, I have a ring in my bag )...

Duty rates for an engagement ring

Apologies if this is the incorrect place but it seemed the most appropriate.

I will be travelling from the UK to the United States in February for eleven days to visit my girlfriend (US citizen)....
