Re: Green Card/UK passport name conflict

Re: Green Card/UK passport name conflict

Thanks for all the additional help.

I have been looking into renewing my UK passport but this also seems fraught with complications.

This is my second marriage and the Passport Office seem to...

Re: Green Card/UK passport name conflict

Hoping someone can help me here.

I'm travelling back to the UK in November on my UK passport and returning to the US on my Green Card.

The problem is that I got married last year (just before I...

Re: Form DS-156

I happened to have worked in the legal sector for 5 years, so "legal speak" doesn't actually baffle me.

All the ConOff said to me was "I'm sorry but your visa has been denied today" - so if that...

Re: Form DS-156

Thank you for the congratulations. I wish I could have seen the second ConOff's name tag (hair in the way!!) to be able to compliment her - she really gave me hope from the get go!

I have to take...

Re: Form DS-156

Indeed!

The first ConOff seemed stunned I wasn't told why I was refused the first time. That woman I saw the first time around was obviously in a foul mood!

Though I did do a much better...

Re: Form DS-156

Well what a different interview THAT was!!!

Both ConOffs were pleasant, helpful and even cheerful!

I insisted all my documents were taken in at the first part of the interview - and I don't...

Re: Form DS-156

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound like you hadn't prepared etc.

Yes I have another interview for next week.

I've prepared extensively and my head is full of information. I hope I'm given a...

Re: Form DS-156

You're very lucky ... and I'm glad you got your visa and didn't have the awful time I did.

Seems I just lucked out.

Re: Folisnky on Remschick F-1 denial

I am well aware of what 214(b) denial is - I have the official letter with me.

If the Interviewing Officer hadn't been in such a mood from the previous interviewee (they were arguing still when I...

Re: Folisnky on Remschick F-1 denial

I never actually said that - I was quoting from the literature given by the US Embassy.

I would surely love to know what else I could do to prove my validity.

Re: Folisnky on Remschick F-1 denial

Well could I ask what is?

Having the paperwork, the only other thing I can do is "convince" the Interviewing Officer of my desire. It actually says that in all the literature on obtaining an F1...

Re: Form DS-156

Yes I have read his post.

What I was saying was, I thought I would just be able to reapply the same way I applied the last time. Is that not the case?

I have a rough transcript of the...

Re: Form DS-156

I just found that - thank you!

I'm now really worried as I didnt realise I would need legal assistance to resubmit my application.

I have no idea where to start with that - or the cost involved.

Re: Folisnky on Remschick F-1 denial

Sorry, I only just found this thread (to say life's been hectic this week is an understatement).

Could you please clarify why I would need a lawyer to fight my cause? Will I not be able to...

You know, I thought the same thing when I read the other description.

Well mine was a young woman, long dark hair, very slim - wouldn't make eye contact.

Just to warn you.

I doubt everyone...

I can only think it was the reasons Elliep gave too, though I also read that you only had to wait 3 days before...
