The service was for all of the units in the house. Quoted by penguin air con based in Almancil. Reading the check sheet of what they do I think I'll leave it and do it myself. :thumbup:

Is it worth having the air con system serviced? I clean the filters myself regularly and it's working fine, cold and hot. We only use it in July and August. Even then only occasionally. Quoted €150...

Anybody know the best way to get a train from the Algarve to Bilbao or Santander?

Let me know how you get on. I'm in the UK for a few weeks. I asked the vet here and she seemed to think there was something available, but not in the UK, as sand flies are not present here.

There is a new injection in Portugal to control leishmaniasis in canines. Anybody on here have any more info on this? My Portuguese is a bit sketchy so weighing up the risks is difficult.

A lot of dehumidifiers have a heating element for colder days. Invest in a humidity meter then you can keep a check on the levels. Ideally it should be around 55-60%. Dampness and mould can cause...
