Re: to old to learn spanish

Here's a page that explains them. (http://www.perfectyourenglish.com/grammar/if.htm)

As far as learning Spanish goes if you can say a sentence like "I wear a belt so my trousers don't fall down"...

Re: to old to learn spanish

That wasn't what I said. I said to be able to do all those things you only need the language skills of a five-year-old. You might take that as an insult but it is certainly not. In the time I have...

Re: to old to learn spanish

According to Peter Trudgill (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Trudgill) only 12-15% of the population of the British Isles speak Standard English.

Re: to old to learn spanish

When I first started Spanish I went to night school. The class was full of people that wasted lots of time asking questions like what is an adjective. After a month they'd all left and the rest of us...

Re: to old to learn spanish

I really don't see what you are arguing about. Are you suggesting that someone who doesn't have any concept of the elements of language will find learning a new one just as easy as someone who does?

Re: to old to learn spanish

Of course they have a good understanding of the structure and rules of the language. Even a two-year-old does, that why they regularize the irregular verbs (cabo, sabo, tieno, etc). They do this...

Re: to old to learn spanish

Are you the sort of person that doesn't give up once you get your teeth into something? Are you open minded and freely willing to take up new ideas and ways of doing things? Do you have a good...

Re: Iberdola- overestimated electricity bill

I just use the prunings from my trees to keep me warm in the winter. Burn them in a wood stove.

Re: Iberdola- overestimated electricity bill

How many "white villages" have their terracotta roof tiles painted white? Such a thing would be hideous.

Re: Iberdola- overestimated electricity bill

Reading your post really has given me a good laugh. I love the maths too.

Here are some figures for you too (re: 5 July 2008, a day when shadows are near their shortest):

06:47; Sun altitude:...

Re: Iberdola- overestimated electricity bill

Painting the house white will make it colder in winter. Having trees that drop the leaves in winter allows the house to get some sun in winter and lots of shade in summer. If you want to measure the...

Re: Iberdola- overestimated electricity bill

Paint the roof white. Bahh! Just grow some trees. They work wonders.

Re: Anyone Here Have a Spanish Motorbike Licence?

Someone explained this the other day but I can't find the thread. I believe the consensus was if you have a Spanish car license you can ride any bike up to 125cc although A1 is not mentioned on the...

Re: Iberdola- overestimated electricity bill

I just changed from two 500 watt security lamps to light the garden, to seven 15 watt energy savers. Saves about 10 cents per hour (about 25€ off every bill) and the lighting is so much nicer. Last...

Re: Little dog , in Andalucia

Yeah, if they're guide dogs, otherwise sanitary codes are being violated. Occasionally you see them outside on the terrace but never inside, and certainly not dining.

Re: Anyone Here Have a Spanish Motorbike Licence?

Lost, just out of interest, are you living in Spain? You need an EU citizen registration cert to get a license here and for that you need to have been in the padron for more than 3 months. If you...

Re: Anyone Here Have a Spanish Motorbike Licence?

That's not true. 2006 figures (which are the most recent available) were: Spain 480 fatalities; UK 561. That 11.7 per million capita, in Spain; 9.4 per million, UK

If it's from a factory or supermarket I agree, but if it is home made by someone that knows how then it is delicious.

Re: Iberdola- overestimated electricity bill

I'm not talking about recurring credit card payments. Iberdrola sends me the electric bill (by email). I check the reading and if it is wrong request a corrected bill. Then on, or just before, the...
