Became PR on October 30th so I'm at 72 days today. However, I have traveled to/from the US and the UK a couple of times in that period without any issues. I can see the wait for a card being a real...

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread

Received a 'Decision Made' on eCas over the weekend although nothing on my CIC profile. My application was received on May 16th, so the time line is pretty much in line with everybody else so far.

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread

I noticed that a lot of people on here seem to have had their medicals 'passed' shortly after their application was submitted. My application was received on May 16th but my medical results are still...

Re: International money transfer on a reg. basis - Paypal

Yes that's exactly how it works. I'm currently sending a similar amount back to the UK on a regular basis and I find that the money normally clears in the UK within the hour.

Re: Transferring funds back to Europe on a monthly basis

Have you considered PayPal?

I transfer roughly $1,000 back to the UK every two weeks. I have a Canadian Paypal account connected to my RBC checking account and a UK Paypal account connected to my...

Re: To apply Express Entry Or Not

Sorry to derail the conversation. Do you have a specific web link for this LMIA application that you can share? I see the regular one with the $1000 fee but can't find a reference to the 'free'...

Re: Timmies in the UK?

It's not the UK but I saw a Tim Hortons machine at the Spar in Dublin airport a year or so ago. You could always catch a cheap flight if you're that desperate...

Re: Border Guards Searching laptops/phones/facebook/email/twitter

Of course. But it's not idle scrutiny, CBSA seem to have the legal authorisation to conduct this level of interrogation. The officer searching the guys email had a legitimate concern that the...

This is probably one for the resident CBSA people.

I've been watching 'Border Security' recently at the weekend, I don't know what it is about those shows but I love them all; Passport Control,...

Re: UK Paramedic Science Student wanting to transfer to Canadian uni

Just out of interest, how did you get admitted onto a degree course in the UK with C grade GCSE's as your highest level of education, at only 22 years old? I wouldn't have thought that was possible?...
