I'm leaving Oz in 3 days after being here for 8 months.
Is it really important to close bank accounts? Can/will they do anything if you leave them open and continue to get monthly fees?

Anyone know what the SpecSavers equivallent in Australia is? Or anywhere that has good prices.
I went in to that OPSM place and it's pretty expensive.

Also, does medicare offer any optical care?...

Oh beacuse I am not going straight home, I'm going to travel around Australia and SE Asia for 4-6 months. Was considering bringing the laptop around, but it would be more hassle than it's worth.

Aus Post will do it for around $100 by sea mail, which seems fine to...

The best bank in the world by far is...... Nationwide.

I can use my Nationwide Visa debit to take out cash or use as a Visa card ANYWHERE in the world for FREE! And they give a damn good exchange...
