Actually, just reading it over again (with more focus this time!!!), I'm seeing that they only require 'good character documents' (aka penal clearance) if I've been outside the country for 12+ months...

Ah so it's a totally new process/service then....good point.

A jump from 10 to 45 would have been a big increase, but obviously that's not the case case here then.

It's certainly a jump from when I did it previously at 10GBP to more recently at 45GBP... and yes while it may be fairly insignificant compared to all the other costs...

Lol...to be fair I think at 25 it's a valid point that the actual 'costs' associated to immigrate may be a little hard to swallow (even more so x2 people).....once in Australia, it doesn't...
