Be sure that Spanish night, and overall in Las Ramblas, is a little bit noisy so I suggest if you don't like it go to a hotel/aparthotel not the exact center of Barcelona.

For 4 I suggest a hotel. Barcelona is not very expensive in New Year's eve. How much is your budget? Depends on it, I'll recommend some good hotels/hostels if you want.
