Just noticed FNB Credit Card are charging me monthly R23 account fee and R5 service fee (they love to complicate things) on my credit card account.

Been banking with FNB for almost 30 years now, curiosity got the better me because I could see my fee saver account was operating as before, no changes/charges, so I enquired and was told everything...

Thanks for pointing this out paulry, I also have a FNB account but don't live there any longer. Its useful for sending money to family and makes holidays in SA easier with hiring cars and drawing...

Yes new regs for registration of all SA sim cards are in place, during a recent trip i went with a SA family member and registered the new sim in her name, all you need is Id and proof of residence...

Also considered doing the same when i was toying with the idea of returning because as you know used cars have more value in SA compared to UK, what put me off was that you have to pay a tax levied...

thanks Pablo, the lack of consistency more often works in your favour.. i don't mean bribes and things, but SA doesn't have officials that are quite as abrupt as UK and depending upon you approach...

Thanks Auds.. as there is no date on the perm res permit in your old passport i wonder how customs would view it if you were to carry the expired passport when enterering SA, or even an employer...
