For peace of mind, I just called Qatar Airways to confirm whether the grant letter would be sufficient, and they informed me that the check-in counter's computer system has all the Oz visa...

Understood.

I just hope the airline here will accept the grant letter as evidence to let us board the plane. Once we're in Australia, we would be on the system so that would not be a problem.

Yup, Pollyana, that's what I thought exactly regarding the airline's obligation at the departure point. Hence my concern!

I didn't realise that check-in counters' computers had all that visa information stored on it.

We have our permanent residence visas electronically, and have a letter from the Oz Immigration as proof.

When we leave our current country for Oz, on a one-way ticket, would the check-in desk...

Usually when you email your Case Officer directly, you receive an automated reply email to say that they received the email and that a Case Officer will respond within 7 days.
