If we don't know each other I'm sure we know someone in common that's what Bangor's like. I moved there in '88 from Edmonton and went to Glenlola then on to Stranmillis in '92. Taught in Clifton...

Fly Zoom actually fly direct from belfast to Calgary but only from May to October

I would be really suspicious. We saw some houses we thought looked great on MLS when we went to see them OH MY GOODNESS! What dives. What we found interesting was the angles the photos are taken...

We're from Bangor and moved to Calgary last July with our 2 kids aged 3 and 8. I know that's nowhere near Ontario but I do have a cousin who lives in Cornwall Ont and a friend's brother...

In Northern Ireland not sure about rest of UK there's an expression "knock me up in the morning" meaning wake me up - it means something very diferent over here!!!:ohmy:

Have you seen the GAP commercial on TV? There's a guy trying to sell hoodies dancing around giving the 'V' sign it cracks me up every time. That's one commercial they couldn't show in the UK!

My husband is in the same boat. I am a Canadian citizen so I was able to swap my GB licence for an Alberta one with no problems. My husband on the other hand is waiting for his permanent residence...

You do have to get a separate police check done in Calgary. I had one done in the Uk in June but still had to have one done here in September it does take a while to come through as mine was only...

We moved here from the UK in the summer. My son turned 8 in the summer and started in Grade 2 in September in Calgary. The date of your daughter's birthday could affect what Grade she goes into. ...

Lightbulb bringing money into Canada

Does anyone know if you have to pay taxes if you bring a large amount of money into Canada?

We have the proceeds of our house still in our UK savings and want to bring it over while the exchange...
