If you fly via North America you will have a greater luggage allowance available, two bags at 23kg each per passenger. Going via Asia it's usually the standard 20kg per person. Some on these forums...

Yes, if you can afford to do it. I haven't a clue as to the costs, but if you can do it for a reasonable cost and if it makes your home more comfy, go for it.
