I got an 857 sponsored regional visa.Actually came over on a 457ie but broke up with my wife hence had to change tack.I found immigration in Brisbane to be most helpful and I reckon it is far easier...

actually spoke to a solicitor about that who said that as we are not residents custody issues could only be determined by a UK court-also my wife is only on a 457ie which expires in June so custody...
