Re: Can I marry on VWP then leave and later return to US?

Ah yes, it's been a while since I poked my nose in here. It's comforting to see that you are still treating the world like it's your own personal soap opera. ;-)

Re: Can I marry on VWP then leave and later return to US?

There's an important point that hasn't been made yet, you cannot over stay the I-94W date in your passport even if you get married here in the US.

Re: Aberdeen to Houston

Greers of Elgin moved me to California, very very professional, and reasonable. They are based out of Keith. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Re: The Good Ol' Green Card Process

Hi Mike

I agree with the above - quickie wedding, (Vegas baby,) and plan a bigger affair for next year. Friends of mine just did this (both US citizens) so that they qualify for a military...

Re: Dual Citizen Newborn need US & UK passports?

Hi! I've been busy working and hanging out with my wife, baby and all our old friends. Good times. Been lurking, but haven't seen much I feel I can contribute to, (not that that every stopped me in...

Re: Dual Citizen Newborn need US & UK passports?

Simplest answer - get both now. That will decrease likelihood of confusion down the line.

Alternatively - get the US one whilst still in the US and get the British one when you get to the UK. It's...

Re: Is it hot or cold in the Bay Area?

Youcha! We're setting up home in Oakland in a week, hoping it'll be somewhere in between those two extremes.

Re: For my fellow Scots (and anyone with a GSOH)

Haha, I just shared a can of Irn Bru with my wife the other day that had been in our fridge for 18 months. It was just as bad as I remember.

Re: Different Words

Bill Bryson's "Made in America" is a great read for anyone interested in the American English vs British English debate. He points out that a lot of what Brits think of as Americanisms actually have...

Re: Cadbury's Caramel

FFS! That's insane.

Looking forward to getting back to California and all it's microbrews.

Scotland has a decent microbrew scene these days too, but not a patch on the left coast.

Re: Cadbury's Caramel

Most of that stuff I can understand. But what's to the right of the marmite, is that Colman's tartare sauce? Yuk! And Lloyd Grossman sauces, wtf?

Good call on the Ambrosia creamed rice though. And...

Re: Cadbury's Caramel

It's like google street view at the supermarket.

Damn, that's a good idea. I'll mount the digital camera on the trolley next time I go to Sainsburys.

The process for your wife to get work authorization in the UK is very straightforward. My wife was able to get hers sorted out same day at the British consulate in LA.

I did something very...

Re: One everyone missed

Fantastic, thanks for sharing, and entertaining as always. And great catch on the CR vs IR. Seems like we hear about quite a few that go the other way (IR granted when CR should have been.)
