LOL Mohogany..thats why we all have an opinion and can express it. Actually i live about 20 kms from the coast so that's cool. Personally I like it in Darwin and glad I came here.:)

It is a touch expensive to rent here - averaging at about $500 - 600 a week depending where it is etc but I'm sure you'll be fine and it's great here!

I agree with Nige Darwin/Palmerston are the areas to stay in and mahogany might be stretching the truth a touch. The dry is fantastic but the wet does get a bit oppresive however after three years...

To me 45k sounds ok..you have enough for the bond, white goods (if you arn't bringing them over), brown goods..same. Cars can be bought cheaply second hand for the time being as long as you arn't...

I know in the NT there is Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTP) on all veh rego's so actual insurance for your car isn't required however this insurance only covers the injured party's hospital...

we are in rented accomodation but have been looking around and i think that prices here in Darwin are not cheaper in comparison...the average in Palmerston is about 500k for a 3/4...

I agree with Nige (njk435). Best to fly to Singapore then to here - Darwin. As he says you'll fly over Darwin to Sydney (5 hours south) then have to fly back up!

Hi Clive, as for getting meds done now...yes!! Can take up to 2 months to get an appointment with Drs and Xrays...have to use their nominated ones... just get receipts. You need to wait til DIMIA...
