Thanks for all your replys:) ,however a new problem has surfaced.I phoned the Vietnamee embassy asking them when sending back the old passport to ensure its not stapled shut or damaged as i read this...

Thanks Blue Cat when you say staple the passport together do you mean actually using a staple gun or just clipping them together using a bull dog clip.If its the former i would have thought that...
