Sorry, no fixed timeframe, depends on individual cases.

You can buy a house, provided it's directly from the developers... ie new houses... but no PR... no temp visa

Don't know whether it helps, but DIMIA don't usually do employer reference by email. They will either call by phone or show up at the doorstep... If he's not around, I'm sure someone senior...

You should get it certified anyway. At least, that's what we were told and did.

The AFP is quite efficient. The turnaround time is supposed to be 30 days but most will get it in 2-3...
