Have you looked at classic international cruise, we looked at coming last year on their ship called the Funchal, it was under £2000 per person. It cruise's in Nov from Greece and into Freemantle.

We have just booked flights through opodo.co.uk, for flights from Brisbane - Perth - London, in July, they were about 700 pounds one way, which was the cheapest we could find, but they are with BA...

Sorry for didn't reply earlier, but have been up to Hervey Bay for the long weekend, yes in the van.
We bought ours in Perth, there didn't seem that much choice over there, think there are more...
