It took us two weeks to hear back from Mississauga. That was the quickest part. The rest of the application took a year to be completed.

We got a quote from www.excessbaggage.com to ship stuff door to door from Aberdeen to Vancouver and they were quite cheap. Getting some more quotes in the next couple of weeks so will let you know...

My husband had his interview 12 November, and got his passport request on 9 February. So that was almost 3 months. The medical was done a long time before that.

Well I didn't quite understand the reasoning, but we were told that there was nothing legally preventing us from living together for a full year (me going back to Britain) and applying as common law....

Wow, I can't believe how fast that is. We applied as conjugal, with medicals done upfront. I am in Canada and my bf is in the UK. Here's our timeline:
