Commuting to Vancouver from Penticton is pretty easy. There are 3 direct flights out and 3 flights back daily. The flight is less than 1 hour and you only need arrive at Penticton airport 30 mins...

How true, it is extremely beautiful and hot and dry in the summer (and right now come to mention it) and it is extremely mild in the winter with great powder up in the mountains to play in. However...

The BC Hunting Regs region 8 shows what you can hunt in the Okanagan region. We don't hunt any of the ones mentioned above. We only hunt in the fall and only hunt deer, moose, elk and grouse...

You can still hunt through the winter here but there are less species open. Cougar, Snowshoe Hare and Canada Geese are all open season through the winter. And Spring bear just opened up yesterday.

Hope is nice, very scenic but not a lot going on there. It was where the movie first blood was filmed BTW. Depends what you are looking for but IMO Abbotsford and Chilliwack are 2 of the last places...
