Re: Work Permit/ Consultancy - Complexities

Andrew's answer was pretty clear to me. You can remain in Canada for the duration of the validity of the work permit, but the only employer you can work for is the one on the original permit. ...

Re: spouse visa interview

If you've been living with your Canadian husband, you haven't lost your PR status. You just need to apply for a PR card.

I just found the link to the relevant information:

Re: Help! Help! Help!

For my husband, it took about 60 days, and we put that it was for immigration, and needed ASAP on the envelope. The RCMP website says to expect to wait 120 days. I'm not sure if writing on the...

Re: Sponsorship processing way too short!!!

Re: marriage or common law partner

It's perfectly...

Re: Advantage/Disadvantage of sponsoring a spouse from within canada

It's not a travel restriction per se. No foreign national, even those from visa-waiver countries, have guaranteed rights to enter Canada. Only Citizens and Permanent Residents do. Should the...

Re: Sponsorship and marriage question - HELP

Don't worry too much about getting your name changes processed before submitting the application. I did get my driver's license, health card, and SIN changed before submitting, but didn't change it...

Re: Inland common-law sponsorship

My understanding is that it basically means that they've flipped through the application, it looks complete, they believe that the relationship is genuine, and they agree that the Canadian is...

Re: Inland common-law sponsorship

AIP actually stands for "Approval in Principle" not application in process. :)

AIP means that they have accepted the validity of the relationship, and have approved the Canadian spouse to sponsor....
