A lot depends on the type of visa you are applying for some are taking longer, it also depends if your job is on the MODL.(luckily mine was)
We applied late Oct 2004 and my ack letter was dated Nov...

I was not expecting it to be so quick expecting 6-12 months so quite a shock,
as far as i am aware yeah it is 12 months from pc and medicals

my job was also on the MODL and we had the email notifying that visas granted on friday total timeline 14 weeks.Good Luck
