Certified copy of marriage document

I have the interview date for my application to register for permanent residence :)

The letter I received says that I need to bring "A certified copy of your Marriage Document...."

So I'm best to avoid travelling outside the US till I get permanent residency ?

I know what you both mean about the folks on the phone - I have to call 4-5 times to get an answer often enough that...

I-485, expired K3 visa and visiting Britain

I have applied for permanent residency using the I-485. My original visa was a K3 and expired in September 2005.

I would like to visit Britain (which is where I am from). However the INS website...

Yeah - thanks everyone :)

I phoned the NVC twice today (to make sure I got the same info 2 times) and made sure I knew what I am doing.

I'm writing to the NVC to tell them I am applying to...

Well I just called the NVC and spoke to someone who said I should write to the NVC saying I am in the US and am adjusting status. They'll put my case on hold. Then I send off my I-485 to the CIS.

I wasnt planning on going back to england for the interview!

I was hoping to have it in Orlando (or at least Florida).

Well there was a gap of 6 months when they sent the forms to the wrong address.

The case is still open - the NVC just sent me the I-864 forms, which I am now ready to send off.

So now I'm even...

Thanks for the offer - I think I'm set now. I have all the forms filled out and I'm having my USCIS medical on Tuesday.

I figure I'll send the forms in and if theres a problem, hire a lawyer...

Well I think they were confused and confused me when I talked to them on the phone.

All being well I will be filing on Thursday (after the 2nd part of my medical).

My DS-230 was processed on 5/9/2003.

I guess I was confused on what I needed to do - talking to the INS never seemed to be much help.

Hmmm I dont think I've filed the I-485.

My I-130 was approved in December 2002 and the case was passed to the daprtment of state National Visa Center.

They then sent me an I-864 form to...
