I used to work for a staffing firm in NL, I accepted a IT project which sent me to NYC for 8 weeks.
A phone call got misdirected and I ended up talking...

I would say go with "visitor", at least that's what my lawyer put on the I-485.

Received the Welcome to the USA letter 03/28/2005
Received the card today - 10 days after being approved in NYC.

I guess they are going with the electronic fingerprints and photo that was done at the ASC in Hempstead.

The only thing they did at ASC was fingerprinting and the biometrics, that was it.
