As well as London, consider areas west of London where the M4 motorway runs. The Finance companies have all the decent property leases in London and many tech companies are moving West....

I get £55K in UK (with London weighting) and will get $110K in Sydney, as a Training Manager in an HR dept. of a corporate , I'm going for a trial 3 years on a 457 though before PR, so will benefit...

I'm about to go on a 457 and I know that "education" costs can be claimed back for tax after you have paid the initial sum - I don't know if "childcare" comes under the same banner though

Thanks Susan. I've had a look at that, it says that the cost of living is about three quarters of that in UK. Is that your experience or are you an un-travelled pom like me?
