All you have to do is come back to Canada immediately after your program in the states. With the new rule you can stay out of Canada for 3 years without loosing your status as PR.

If you land in January 2005, you can stay out of canada technically till January 2008 without loosing your PR. However, this means you can not go out of canada till 2010 to maintain the 2/5 rule.

Have no fear, it took us 8 months before we heard anything from LA even though we were told we will hear from them in 3 months. My home country is Nigeria BTW.

We finally got our visas stamped January 2003. We attended the interview in LA last april. The visa expires in April 2003, which is so soon, I don't think we would have rounded up...

I did my interview in LA in April, the interviwer said I passed and I should pay ROLF. I have also completed medicals police report etc.

6 months down the line and not a word from LA, I faxed them...
