Re: EES chaos

@philat98, I guess there's always the Eurostar train or ferry from the continent.

I've just flown into Milan Malpensa. I was among the first people to get to passport control. There was a short...

Re: TV licence exemption form?

Yes it can be done online. Go to Agenzia delle Entrate's portal - you need to log in with some form of digital ID. Then find the "dichiarazione sostitutiva ... canone RAI" section so that you can...

It all went smoothly flying out from Malpensa T2 this morning. I got to the terminal at 7 am and by 7.20 I was ready to board my flight at 10.30. There's a waiting area with sockets so I was happily...

Re: EES chaos

Cheers, Margaret.

Apparently, Milan Linate is in a terrible mess these days but I've heard Malpensa is coping with EES all right.

EES chaos

I'm flying out of Milan Malpensa later this month - not looking forward to EES-induced chaos although I'm not subject to this new system. I'll be using my British passport with my Italian permanent...

Re: Voluntary National Insurance top-up

In my case, it took about a year (12 months) to hear from HMRC again. Some of my colleagues have had similar experiences.

I sent my CF83 by post in March 2025. HMRC replied with a letter dated...

Re: GIBRALTAR 2024

T'was in the 1960s. I love how you put it - one big happy Commonwealth family. Absolutely! British citizens, British Overseas Territories citizens, and British National (Overseas) citizens don't need...

Re: GIBRALTAR 2024

Aussies and Kiwis are non-EU nationals, and so are the Canadians, just saying.

Re: GIBRALTAR 2024

Fair enough if the Gibraltarians are happy with it. They have their own immigration system so they should decide.

It just feels slightly odd that non-Brits (i.e. foreign aliens) can now have a say...

Re: Scicily

Plain horror and the lack of civilisation, but I guess the weather in Sicily does help - at least it's much better than Luton or Bradford!

Re: New travel rules for dual citizens

I've noticed that if Italian nationals use their ID cards to return to Italy from outside the Schengen Zone, they cannot use e-gates and so they have to see a border officer.

The e-gates in Europe...

Re: New travel rules for dual citizens

I certainly understand your sentiments but I beg to differ. Many other countries have similar rules - we have been relaxed about our entry rules. For example, all Italian nationals are required to...

Re: Voluntary National Insurance top-up

If I've read the new rules correctly, does it mean I'll still be subject to the current eligibility criteria if I apply to pay Class 3 (for 2026-27 onwards) in March 2026? It reads new applications....
