You should have been declaring this UK rental income whilst as a US GCH for the last eight years. My understanding is there is no meaningful tax differentiation between a GCH and a USC.

A US citizen must enter the US on their US passport. It is illegal for you to enter using your UK passport and ESTA.

I'd say there is a <10% chance the airline will let you board with the picture....

One thing to add, my understanding is the Travel Permit must be applied for, approved and received before the GCH leaves the US.

1) Yes absolutely. They would present their Green Card and Travel Permit (small green passport-esque book) to the agent. No issue at all.
2) No drawbacks apart from citizenship delay.

I've read online of I-131 expedites being declined when somebody wants to go abroad to visit their dying parent in hospital, confirmed with medical records. So I'm afraid the reason of kids visiting...

No, a UK passport photo is not sufficient. It must be 5cm x 5cm. I had mine taken at Snappy Snaps nr Farringdon.

I think you're massively overthinking this L1A is for managers and executives. This 'interview' is simply a basic meeting which you likely do many times a week. Stop worrying!
