Just read that the visa costs around AED 4k when applying within the UAE.

Apparently the cost is variable around that figure. I guess this would cover my visa and then it’s extra for each family...

Thanks a lot for the information.

HR told me I should arrive on my own and then get visit visas for the family to arrive on, as arriving together with the family as tourists may be “an issue”....

do you know at what stage we can confirm school places? Upon my ID or when the kids get IDs? It may be unlikely...

for that amount I would use a courier such as UPS or fedex. Just box it up and they will ship it / air freight.

It may be right for us. We don’t need to live in a glitzy neighbourhood or in the city. Silicon oasis may be quiet and well located for us which is great. However the price may be due to building...

Just been looking at silicon gates as it’s close to work and a good school. 3 beds are 90k chiller free, so that changes the equation a bit.

We get a set of economy class tickets each year, booked by the university. So there’s no cost to us for this.

We are moving to Dubai to be in a more westernised setting, particularly better...

My offer is AED 450k per year + medical + 50% school fees. The pay is 50/50 basic/allowances. There’s a relocation pot which will cover our furniture and belongings to be shipped. Nothing else.
