You can use online tax software to tell you what you might get (or have to pay), and you only pay when you file.

Pretty sure they will text any number. I have just logged into my account OK, and I live in Canada and the SMS verification code is always sent to my Canadian cell phone with no issue.

If you can top up at the Class 2 rate then it really is worth it IMO, not so convinced about topping up at the Class 3 rate.

I would concur about Tangerine. I moved all my accounts from TD last year and saved a lot on monthly fees. The only thing about Tangerine compared to TD is that I find their web banking and smart app...

Actually A J Bell will allow non-UK residents to open a SIPP, but not if you reside in Canada (see section 10.5 of their terms and conditions...
