Most...

Cool Re: British passport expired

MY UK passport had expired back in 2007. I kept meaning to get around to renewing it.

I sent it off on September 22nd,...

Re: What things make you homesick?

I much prefer the Newspapers in the US in general to the UK. Much more like newspapers I feel. IN the UK I read the Daily Telegraph, but the paper here - The Post & Courier - gives a good mix of both...

Re: What things make you homesick?

I have found as far as beer goes that the UK and US are similar in one aspect. The big national breweries all produce dire offerings in both countries... I don't think they're much to chose between...

Re: What things make you homesick?

I agree that one has to adapt, and those that don't want to will never settle elsewhere. Nowhere in the world is perfect of course.

I can't help but agree on most of what you say. I don't miss the...

Re: What things make you homesick?

I can walk to a branch of the Atlanta Bread Company here, and get real fresh made bread. I agree that is unusual in many parts of the US. I much prefer driving here than in the UK, more room, less...

Re: Mobile-Phone Ban May Be Near End

The on-board phones on transatlantic flights only work near to the US coast as far I am aware, and it's about ten bucks a minute.... plus a connection charge...
