Hi all,

We previously lived in Canada for a short time and now live in rural Wales UK.

We have dabbled a few times on whether to return but recently recinded our PR due to it expiring and not...

Re: Permanent Resident Card in CA - expired

We were out of days and were informed by a registered immigration specialist of our options.

I suggest you speak with one (if you DM me I can give you the details of the one we spoke to) but...

Re: 28 M (UK) - Police Staff (Civvy)

Ex-police here now back in UK but have some experience with Canada. You may find civilian jobs. Look at city of Calgary etc as the city themselves will recruit those type of roles. Police officer...

Re: Permanent Resident Card in CA - expired

As above, we had PR but spent too long out of Canada and as a result have now renounced our PR and will have to start fresh if we do seriously want to return to live. Renouncing PR was very simple...

Relinquishing PR Status

Hi all, has anyone on here returned to UK and relinquished their PR?

We have now been out of Canada for the maximum amount of days, so effectively our PR cards are of no use, even though they are...

Re: Job Offer in Nova Scotia - Looking for Brutal Honesty

That sounds like an amazing opportunity. I may have missed it but have you spent much time in Nova Scotia?

We travelled across Canada several years back and Nova Scotia was our highlight! It’s an...

Re: Where to live? Thoughts?

Not trying to put you off but maybe worth looking at UK solutions like Pembrokeshire. Farrrrrr cheaper than living in somewhere like Nanaimo or similar but similar benefits.

All you could ever...

Re: Where to live? Thoughts?

Haven't read all the replies so apologies if I am repeating some points.

We did IEC in 2013. We couldn't get 'career jobs' even though we are quite well educated and experienced. The visa seemed...

Re: Conflicting minds with moving to Canada 🇨🇦

Maybe write down a list of pros and cons and the ultimate reasoning behind any decision, whether it be a move or not.

Covid has not made is easy for those to see family members back home and with...

Re: Top Reasons to Move (and Not Move) to Canada

I have a friend who has moved from a populated and busy area of the UK to the easier going part of West Wales. He was able to transfer jobs (public service on the same pay) and of course it's a LOT...

Re: Traveling with dogs

There are June flights online but I wouldn't trust any flight schedule right now as often the flights get rolled back and back. I certainly wouldn't trust any life move on it.

Re: Traveling with dogs

At the moment there are very limited options when flying pets to Canada.

As of right now, cargo is the only option and through an agent due to Covid and cargo demands. One dog will cost well over...

Re: HELP!!!! WHERE TOO START WITH MOVING....

I would research the potential roles available for starters and see if you are willing to sacrifice things like the long annual leave you have in the UK to spend with your family at the moment to the...

Re: A Right Ol' Covid Conundrum - A Move Turned Sour

It's strange, once we made the decision, we then had cold feet, but were encouraged by others to push on and through the elements of doubt as we'd been on about it for so long and planned for it for...

Re: A Right Ol' Covid Conundrum - A Move Turned Sour

Thanks for this. Over £2600 (we had a few quotes and some were closer to 3k) seems incredibly steep when you look at the ordinary pricing with AC doesnt it?!
Im sure we tried speaking with AC (the...

Re: A Right Ol' Covid Conundrum - A Move Turned Sour

Unfortunately, no direct flights available to Calgary from London, no idea of when the direct flights will restart as they seem to push the direct flights back month on month.
I think the only...

Re: A Right Ol' Covid Conundrum - A Move Turned Sour

Thanks for this, its good to get an insight of what it will be like if she returns. I am sure 90% of people who move over must have these doubts and wobbles.

Sometimes the tough calls need to be...

Re: A Right Ol' Covid Conundrum - A Move Turned Sour

I should add that both scenarios are doable and we have significant savings to weather any tough times, but it is now a question on is it really worth it. We will survive in both scenarios.

My...

A Right Ol' Covid Conundrum - A Move Turned Sour

Hi all, I need a bit of help!

We gained PR cards some time back but delayed a move once because of illness in the family and then covid hit. We have waited as long as possible but really needed to...
