To clarify, I have looked into some other options like google voice and Rebtel but they are not as good as Skype in terms of service and rates. Not sure if anyone here have tried similar service?

Anyone travelling to KSA needs a visa (except GCC nationals). As a UK passport holder, you can get a tourist visa online, and possibly at the border.
