Can anyone tell me what healthcare is like in Muscat. Are there any European/British doctors in the hospitals?

Re: Retirement - Malaysia, Thailand or Phillipines???

Not sure of the actual death figures, but even Singapore has not been able to keep Dengue at bay. 3 years ago there were I believe 10 deaths on Penang.

Re: New 405 retirement visa

The BERIA site suggests that about 5,000 410 visas were issued.

The new 405 subclass seems so unattractive I would be surprised if there were many interested enough to apply.

Does anyone know...

Re: Medical Insurance for Retirement Visa

Alan,

Thanks very much. The Australian HC in London advises that an overseas based policy will need to be vetted by the appropriate authorities in Australia to see if it is acceptable.

Re: 410 Retirement Visa Medical

For anyone who is interested, DIMIA have confirmed to me that an HIV test is not required for renewal of a 410 visa but is required for initial issue.

Re: 410 Retirement Visa Medical

Swissfabs,

You are too young for a 410 retirement visa - was your agent referring to your 138 visa application perhaps?

Fabie,

Thank you very much.

This seems to contradict the information contained in Form 26!

Re: Retirement Visas - an update

George,

Thank you very much for the text of the message from the MIA.

It would be comforting if the new Regional Investor category visa were to lead ultimately to permanent residency.

Re: Buying your way into Oz?

George,

I am afraid that I cannot find anything about the new regional investor visa on DIMIA's site. Do you think it might lead to permanent residency?

Thanks,
Marc

Doc,

The Business Investor Visa is a provisional visa - you are treated as a temporary...
