I am a retired British citizen currently living under EU rules in Italy: actually in Siracusa, Sicily, just about 100 kilometres from Malta. I have two pensions that add up to a reasonable income....

Thank you very much for your advice. I didn't mean to imply that I don't want to be near other British people; but that I don't want to be in a place which is all designed for the beach holiday...
