We also used a joint sponsor. You have to upload a pen-signed I-864, their ID to prove US citizenship and residency, and their tax information like transcripts and W2 documents. So they should email...

Maybe it'd be easier to pick a visa method first and foremost (as in married vs fiancé), then you'll be about to figure out all the appropriate steps for that route? There's no "options" for us...
