Yup, just to re-confirm what others said above, the printed SIN letter is handed to you on the day when you apply in person. Depending on which Service Canada office you go to, you can have the SIN...

Goto Service Canada and get your SIN. This you can put any address on, even the Airbnb you're staying at. I did the same and I said to the lady at Service Canada that this is a temporary...

Myself and my wife (whom I met and married after getting my PR) will be moving to Canada soon. We both have jobs lined up and she has a 2 year work visa.
