Have you thought about applying at POE? This may of course be moot if you have already submitted your application. It’s a scary one, but that’s what we did as my other half had a LMIA approved job...

We are due to fly to Canada on 7th August. We visited previously in April and have valid eTAs. We are applying for work permits at POE as advised by immigration consultant due to time crunch.

So he was thinking to go himself initially and work for a few months to make sure he was happy with the job etc before moving the whole family over. Would he be able to do that do you think?

Yes of course, thanks for the swift response. So the work is in Forestry, mechanical logging to be precise. In BC. Both of the potential employers do European style logging which is pretty niche over...

Thanks for the reply christmasoompa. The record info was what came through after he attended the police station asking to access his criminal record. He had to take ID, passport, driving licence etc...
